Ann Coulter makes the case that the press will use their power to rescue and cover-up a liberal's tracks and at the same time create tracks for a conservative. This is a must read for anybody who cares about how a newspaper or news anchor presents current events and information to you. She questions the judicial decisions made decades ago that allowed the courts to break up the family who had adopted a child because the biological father wanted the child back--in one tragic case, the child was then killed by the biological father. If you are a conservative you might want to stay away from this book--it will anger the heck out of you.
This book is full of so much that you would really have to read it for yourself; those are just a few things that come to mind. If you are a liberal you should read this book so that you can write a counter-argument to the facts Ann Coulter makes. GUILTY also reviews Eason Jordan, chief news executive at CNN, in his accusation, while on a panel at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland claimed to an audience that the US Military was assasinating journalists. If you remember the vandalism incident at the White House (with W's being jacked from computer keyboards) as Clinton transferred to Bush--this is also discussed in detail.
The Nixon Watergate scandal is compared to the 900 FBI files found in Bill Clinton's whitehouse--and the differences in the media's handling. Also discussed is the Cheney-Bush connection to Haliburton, which after reading GUILTY calls into question what I had previously been spoon-fed by the media. Unfortunately, many of those who interviewed Ann Coulter about her book GUILTY, such as Matt Lauer or Bill O'Reilly, read very little, if any, of the text. This case is made particularly well with examples of Paul Krugman's articles, word choice and what he chooses to omit.
Coulter compiles headlines and articles from The New York Times and The Washington Post as well as news scripts that worked hard to tip the scales into Kerrys favor. If you do not have memories of the 1960s or 1970s, this book is quite valuable. Also discussed are the 300 verterns 'Swift Boaters' who were villianized by the John Kerry campaign and by the media.
You either love her or hate her. Ann tells it like it is and with footnotes.
show me a non conservative talk show that has been able to truly survive. thre is areason why hr books still sell and that is because peopel still read them. thats right even air america went under because the left likes to complain when its convenient for them but thye forget to go to class. it seems like many people review this book that never read it and give it 1 star. for those that say all her stateemnts are crazy havent actually looked at them.
You don't have to be a Conservative to note how her criticisms of liberals are valid. It just amazes me that she can so effectively criticize liberal hypocrisy while not noticing the hypocrisy of the Republicans who talk about small government and individual liberty, while they march lock step with the liberals to big-government-land.
